Building a house of sticks

In the past few weeks the primary school kids appear to have been in the grip of a stick hut making frenzy.

Everywhere you look there are houses of sticks and leafy branches, held together with colourful wool.

There are also some interesting nest creations nestled into the crooks of trees.

Is it any wonder that the humble stick has made it into the Toy Hall of Fame?

Sticks are one of nature's versatile natural materials that spark children's imagination and creativity well into the primary years.

Like the title of this book says, A Stick is an Excellent Thing!

What do your children do with sticks?
