mud dough and spring flowers

Spring has sprung and with the glorious weather and beautiful blooms all around us it would be difficult not to get into the spirit of the new season.

We made some mud dough with the kids and inspired by this post from Deborah at Teach Preschool  we popped it out with fake flowers.

To make mud dough you will need:

::: 1/2 cup of water
::: 1 tbsp cooking oil
::: 2 tbsp brown tempera paint
::: 1/2 cup salt
::: 1 tbsp cornflour
::: 1 1/2 cups plain flour

Stir everything together, and knead.  Such a simple, no cook play dough recipe that can involve the kids every step of the way.

Beautiful (but alas fake) spring flowers bloomed from egg cartons:

How have you and your children been celebrating spring?
