nature play friday: things to do with driftwood

Welcome to Nature Play Friday:

A place to discover fun ways to get your kids playing in and with nature.

Today is all things driftwood.

Our preschool children had fun painting this driftwood.

Now I'm wondering what we could make with it.  This is what I've found so far:

Driftwood Mobiles
From Wise Craft.

Driftwood Airoplanes

Driftwood Paper Weights

Driftwood Tree

So many creative ideas it is hard to choose!

Me thinks I'll have to go collect some more driftwood.

You might also enjoy:  Make your own blocks from driftwood.

Over to you.  Do you have any ideas to share?

  1. this driftwood city has been on my crafty-can't-wait-to-make-it list for a while - i love the idea of kids doing the actual painting of the driftwood, so perhaps I'll make it a collaborative project with my daughter - have her go wild painting the driftwood and i'll add the architectural details with a black market.

  2. These all turned out beautiful! I am not so crafty this way so it is very impressive to see what others can do!

  3. Those driftwood trees are sold at the market where my parents live (south coast of England) as eco christmas trees and they look great!

  4. I love those driftwood trees! I have so many uses at the moment for sticks, we're going to have to go on a collecting expedition.

  5. Excellent! More ideas for using the glue guns!

  6. So many good ideas, Jenny. I can't wait to see what you and the kids come up with.

  7. Great, now we hawe to go for a walk :-)!

  8. Love all of the driftwood ideas. Thank you for sharing. Great blog, BTW...

  9. So useful, this post! My daughter loves collecting Nature goods, and sometimes I feel a bit overwhelmed with so many stuff at home. I'll try your ideas soon! Many thanks for sharing!
