Here is a great activity idea for preschoolers to enjoy and explore nature - Rock Smash. Kids can infuse color into fabric by smashing flowers or grass with a rock. Debi: I just went and checked out your nature walk and I love the idea of a checklist. This would be a great way to keep the older ones engaged - I've filed the idea away for preschool :)
ournextchapters: my oldest son was nuts about his bug hunting when he was that age - we had a few bug catchers and I agree they are a cheap way to bring hours of fun and learning.
