garden or bean pole teepee

Cubby houses are one of the joys of childhood.

Cubby houses or places to hide are also important elements of an early childhood environment.

Children need places to pause.  Places away from the action and flow. Places to build and sustain an imaginary world.  Places to retreat to when you are feeling little or tired or unhappy or out of control.

Places like this fabulous bean teepee.

Garden or bean teepees are simple and inexpensive to make, and would suit a backyard or preschool playscape.

These simple step-by-step instructions  show you how to build your own using garden stakes or bamboo and twine.
I can't wait for school to start again so I can round up some willing little helpers and get cracking!

  1. I love the garden teepee. I'm going to see if we can get one going in our garden this spring.

  2. They look pretty cool don't they? Its nice to find ideas that don't cost a whole lot of money.
